About Phil

I’m Phil Dornan, born in 1955. I’m originally from the Chicago, IL area, now from the Phoenix, AZ area.  Most of you that get to this page already know me.  I have a beautiful loving wife (married 46 years on Feb 9, 2021), three kids I love very much (hardly kids now though), Dorothy, Dawn and Phillip (not a junior). And 2 grandkids I love so very much as well, Kai and Ra-Ra.

I retired at the end of December of 2014, and have made some changes in my life that are in the process of helping me reduce stress and stay active.  Oh, and World of Warcraft, do that a lot.

I ride my bicycle and take walks when I have time (and when it’s cooler in Arizona).

But to the real reason I put up this site… observations. I put together this site for people that know me, people that don’t, and to clear things up about where I stand.

In my age, I’ve come to recognize many things, especially in social media. But not only there, but in television news, newspapers, and others.

This is where I stand… You may be offended! You can read it or skip it, it’s your inalienable right!

Nowhere to hide

Now before I say anything else, let me say this:  I hate NO ONE, especially with respect to color, sexual preference, religious beliefs, political beliefs and such criteria.

It does seem, however, that the afore-mentioned media has become a hating ground for statements and activities. Free speech means: “As long as I like what you’re saying, you can say what you want.” And it’s accompanied by “If you’re saying what I don’t like, I’ll insult you and pummel you with slander, harassment, bullying, and any other tactic I feel will belittle you.”

It’s simply astounding that one cannot speak their mind without at least someone going out of their way to slam them… and I don’t mean gently.

The news media, and social media go out of their way to stir up racial tensions, political tensions and religious beliefs. They just seem to start the pot and stir it, and some of those ON social media are more than happy to participate.

Maybe if we (everyone) stopped the hate process long enough to know we’re all the same on the inside, we might live longer?

Free Speech… Really?

At Dictionary.com, it defines an “inalienable right” as a “right according to natural law, a right that cannot be taken away, denied, or transferred

Everyone has the right to express their own beliefs, and everyone else has the right to accept that belief or not. But it gives no one the right to force those beliefs on others.

In trying to (and so far, in some cases, succeeding) to make government and churches change their fundamental beliefs, the “inalienable right” to have one’s own beliefs have been infringed upon. The judicial system that has stood for:

Motto:  “In God we trust”

National Anthem: “The Star-Spangled Banner”

March: “The Stars and Stripes Forever”

The Constitution of the United States

The Declaration of Independence

The Bill of Rights

has now become intimidated by those of other beliefs. So badly intimidated in fact, that the rights enjoyed by its citizens are being lost to those forcing theirs upon us.  How is it that a country that has stood so firm, so strong for so long, simply bows to the whim of any that would have it changed?

On rights as an American…

If a city, state, county, or country puts up a statue, a flag, a religious monument, because of the principles America was founded on, or was part of the process to achieve our freedoms, there is an “inalienable right” to do so and to keep it.

If same-sex couples want to get married, it is their belief and they will practice it. It is their right and I do not and will not hate them for it. But the government, at any level, “should not” force a church whose fundamental belief forbids this practice to perform said marriage. There are other churches that will. If someone chooses not to make a cake for a specific wedding, why would you force them to do so? Another bakery will.  Is it the principle?  The real principal is the persons inalienable right to choose what they will make and will not make in their business. What will you do, “Your Honor”, if someone comes to your door and says “Your daughter has refused to enroll in the American Law class at the high school because they choose not to include the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of The United States, because they are irrelevant. And it’s a required course to graduate!”?  Really. Have we gone so far that you might say “You’re taking that class”? or would you actually start actions about the school’s requirement? (Hint: That’s been going on for years).

Illegal immigrants are… well… illegal. For decades, there has been a process to live in this country. It’s called “The Immigrant Visa Process”. Google it. There’s a document needed to visit this country, it’s called a “Passport”. Here’s an example site that explains it. In some countries a visa is required to just visit. It’s the law of the country. Some countries immediately deport illegal immigrants, some prosecute their own citizens that help them sneak in. I won’t say all illegal immigrants are bad people, but I will say that all should go through the process to become a citizen if they wish to do so. When one enters illegally, sorry, this doesn’t make a “good” statement about them, no matter where they’re from, or why.

A criminal is a criminal, no matter what color they are, how old they are, their religious belief, and no matter what weapon they use.  Period.  Make the punishment fit the crime and the would-be criminal will think twice, (other than the truly insane, and they’ll kill people anyway, and any way they can find to do so.  And the dangerously insane seem to be slipping through the cracks these days).

I’m for gun control. Meaning: I’m for “responsible” gun ownership (protect your kids!).  I’m not for the lack of fire arms. Government confiscation of firearms will not work, just like prohibition did not work. Controlling the type of firearms will not work, for the same reason. One or all of 4 things will happen: 1) the people that respect the law above their right to self-preservation will not own guns and will simply be sheep waiting to be shot, raped, robbed, etc. by people that have them illegally, 2) The guns will go underground, and there will be those that have weapons to sell that will either sell them at cost, or charge exorbitant rates to people that know they need one to stay alive, 3) (in light of #2), People will arm themselves regardless, any way they can. It’s historical. 4) a worst-case scenario, a form of “civil war” will break out where those that stand by their constitutional right to bear arms will be slaughtered, and probably soldiers and/or police…  on both sides (there are military and police officers that believe in the second amendment).  Anyone every study prohibition?  People ran alcohol illegally.  They died doing it. It didn’t stop it. Illegal money flowed into the hands of the distillers, and more often the mob. Seriously, do you think suddenly telling people “you won’t have guns, give them to me” will stop crime?  Do you think people won’t find a way to obtain them, even if it’s to defend their family and loved ones? By the way, I Googled car-into-crowd killings and/or injuries, deliberate or accidental, in the U.S. and other countries. I think we better start riding bicycles if we outlaw guns and get cars and trucks off the roads, because they’re most likely the next weapon of choice, along with many others that can be made. I could so go on about this.

I really, really, really don’t understand how murdering and butchering a child for parts is “acceptable” by our government (I call it a child, because if it were still a fetus, it wouldn’t have any parts they wanted… that I know of… I hear they could be using a fetus for its “by-products”).  Especially when harvesting body parts is illegal to begin with? It’s illegal because it monstrous!  It’s inhumane! Could you imagine being strapped to a table and your body parts removed while you’re mildly sedated and aware, until your body gives out? (It happens!!)  Incredible. Oh yes, I think I know how they get away with it. Someone is paid to make it ok. Or someone higher up in the government told someone this was going to be ok… or else. A life is a life people, it begins with a heartbeat. On average, by the time a mother-to-be suspects they’re pregnant and checks, it’s a life. The baby has a heartbeat in about 18 days after conception.

To sum all this up, I won’t go into the whole “state of the union”, but our nation is on the rails under the Biden administration and the track is running out. There are too many people that “just don’t know” or “just refuse to see it or believe it.” A hard time is coming.
